IRW – International Rocket Week 2008

This week we are in largs in Scotland for the International Rocket Week or IRW, most of the rocketeers turn up from Wednesday or Thursday with the main flying done during the end of the week, but we decided to come to Scotland for the full week and spend a few days visiting the local sites first before flying rockets later.

Most people are camping but we have booked a local apartment in largs, only to find a few other rocketers have also booked apartments in the same street and are only a few minutes walk away.

The weather has been mixed so far with rain on two days but yesterday was lovely blue skies and warm temp. We visited the moors and Loch Lomand and saw some breath taking views.

A few people have already launched some rockets but the rain has been falling all day so we hope to get launching some of our rockets and seeing some big rockets flown tomorrow.

 I also managed to get a quick Kap session in last night as there is a small green 5 mins walk from our apartment, I did not really have the time to take as many kap photos as i wanted, but there were some rather big balack clouds getting closer so I got the camera and kite down after about 20 minutes.

Hopefully i will find the time to do some more kapping later in the week.
