Photobox, Venus and a wedding

Its been a while since I last posted, the main reason is that I have been very busy at work and so had very little time to spend taking photos, and when I did have some spare time the weather was rather wet and cold. – something that is not great for my asthma.

But in the last month or so, there has been some big news….. firstly I have been booked to do my 2nd wedding ! I cant wait for the wedding on the 4th April as I really enjoyed my first wedding photography and so now really looking forward to doing it again.

Then yesterday “HASSRA” a national association has asked me to take some photos for them of an Art competition and of a lunch time music concert. It was rather short notice as its tomorrow but it sounds really interesting and I am looking forard to it.

Also Photobox, which is the company that prints and sells all my photos online have been very busy upgrading the site and now the online galleries look much better and I am able to offer a lot more print sizes and photo gifts. click on the link below or the link on the side to see my new improved gallery.

Lastly today I finally got my camera out of its case for nearly a month, a friend called me to ask if I had any idea what the “bright star” was near the moon. It was really bright and after phoning another friend was told it was the planet “Venus”.

After phoning my friend back, I went out with my camera to try to get some shots. The moon was already fading fast behind the trees and clouds but I managed to get a few shots before the moon fully disapeared.

But next time I have to remember to use the “mirror lock up” feature on my SLR for the slow shutter speed shots.

Venus also gave me a chance to see how good my Starchart program was, and as you can see below its very good.
